April Card Kit 2 – MFT Stamps

It’s release day! Go grab the new kit, You Give Me Butterflies Card Kit, before it sells out! The card kit comes with the following products:
Clear Stamps – You Give Me Butterflies
Die-namics – You Give Me Butterflies
Die-namics – Peek-a-Boo Butterfly
Die-namics – Breakthrough Butterflies
Card Stock: Porcelain White and Black Licorice

Today, I decided to make a mixed media card featuring the Peek-a-Boo Butterfly Die-namics in a slightly different way. I used a bunch of products to get to this final design.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Die cut two panels from white cardstock using the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics. Adhere the largest panel to an A2 card base.
  2. On the smaller panel, use a brayer to add light gray ink. Roll the brayer up and down and left to right for different textures. Splatter with water.
  3. Using Sketchy Blooms, stamp several leaves overlapping slightly using light gray, dark gray, and blue gray ink. Use diluted ink to fill in some leaves. Splatter with water, black ink, white paint, and diluted gray ink. Use the scripty stamp in First Class Friend to add more texture with gray ink.
  4. Matte with black cardstock.
  5. For additional layers, cut two tags using the Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics from Cornflower and white cardstock.
    – On the blue tag, use the same scripty stamp from First Class Friend and stamp in white pigment ink. Stamp a flower in dark gray ink. Splatter with white and black ink.
    – On the white tag, ink smoosh light gray ink on the panel. Dry between layers. Stamp a few leaves from Sketchy Blooms and a postage stamp from First Class Friend. Splatter with ink.
  6. Die cut two “stamps” using the Postage Stamp STAX Die-namics. Stamp each one with a splatter stamp from Distressed Patterns.
  7. Adhere all of the layers together, popping up the blue tags with foam tape.
  8. For the butterfly, lightly trace the Peek-a-Boo Butterfly Die-namics on heavyweight vellum. Die cut the Peek-a-Boo Butterfly Die-namics inside the outline.
  9. Fussy cut out the butterfly. Splatter with black and white ink.
  10. Die cut some leaves from Flowers and Filler Die-namics using white cardstock.
  11. Adhere the butterfly and leaves to the card front.
  12. Stamp and white heat emboss a sentiment from You Give Me Butterflies on black cardstock. Trim into a strip and adhere to the card.
  13. Embellish with clear drops.
